Thank you to everyone who came to Art in Harmony, in October! Presented by The Alberta Fine Art Collective, Art in Harmony saw nine incredible, local artists present a curated art show of their works in the Harmony Discovery Centre. Throughout an entire fall weekend, visitors mingled with the artists, witnessed live demonstrations, and viewed or purchased a wide range of original pieces, all while enjoying a coffee and learning about the community.
Art in Harmony marked the public debut of the Collective, which includes professional artists Marla Blackwell, Hermann Brandtt, Vania Burton, Candace Holden, Doug Levitt, Jan Murray, Randy Neufeld, Cheryl Peddie and Gordon Pengilly. This distinguished group of painters, sculptors, and glass artists calls the beautiful Alberta Foothills home while their works are displayed locally, nationally, and internationally.
As one of the first communities to incorporate a comprehensive Arts Master Plan in its planning, we thoroughly enjoyed our ‘artful’ weekend. We look forward to many more opportunities for lively discussion, creative moments, or the quiet contemplation that art so easily inspires.
We would like to sincerely thank the members of the Collective for ensuring that this show benefited more than just those who purchased art. Knowing that The Alberta Children’s Hospital is a cause supported by the partners of Harmony Developments for years, the artists volunteered to donate a whopping 20% of their proceeds from the show to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation! This generosity came only one week after the artists donated works to the Building Hope for Kids Gala, hosted by Baywest Homes and sponsored by other Harmony partners in support of the hospital. All told, the artists raised over $700 for life saving equipment and services for the hospital’s patients, amazing!
THANK YOU, to the artists for sharing your talents with us and for your support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital!
