Harmony's neighbour takes community amenities to the next level.
The Springbank Airport, adjacent to Harmony’s Business Campus, is ideal for recreational pilots, small plane owners, and flight enthusiasts. The airport supports a significant level of local and provincial economic activity with its regional role as a leading aviation centre.
Harmony has been planned to complement this exciting aeronautic hub. In fact, an independent evaluation recognized Harmony as an industry leader in Canada in terms of developing an aviation compatible community in close proximity to an airport.
“YBW” as it is known, has been a part of the Springbank area since its construction in 1969 and its grand opening in 1971. As with Harmony, it is built on historic family lands.
Today it is home to 50 hangars and over 400 small aircraft, multiple flight training schools and clubs, and is the nexus between the Calgary International Airport and those seeking adventure in Banff and other mountain destinations. The Calgary Airport Authority officially assumed control of the facility in 1997. For more information about the History and Operations of Springbank Airport view the Harmony Lunch and Learn PDF.
A true asset and a highly unique neighbour to Harmony, the Springbank Airport provides immediate access for small charter flights to fly executives into the future Business Campus, high profile golfers to the championship course, trips to the Rockies, or to cater to those who have a true passion for flight school or simply observing.
