Golfing, swimming, and biking – all in Harmony

When friends mentioned Harmony to Heather and Chris Fabris while visiting during a winter ski trip in the mountains, they were intrigued and stopped into the community on the way home to look at the area and its potential.

The sense of community in Harmony sold them on the move from Strathmore with all the activities for the kids, the ability to grab their bikes and head to the park or lake—like a big family. “We also look forward to the potential growth in the area, which includes the golf course and continuing development, whether it’s commercial or residential. It allows us to build something now and maybe move forward to something different later, it will be a good community to raise our family in.”

Part of the attraction was their son Jackson’s enrollment in Edge School’s Golf Program. Being a golf family, living close to the school and Mickelson National Golf Course made sense. “My (Jackson) first impression of Harmony was that I loved it with all the things it has to offer, such as the lake, LaunchPad, Mickelson, which I am a member of and the Edge School.”

Another perk that drew them to Harmony was the over 25 km of trails and paths that will surround the community. “We love going for outdoor walks and biking around Harmony. There are a lot of trails around here; almost every other block, there is a walking path leading up to a greenspace and mountain views.”

When it came time to choose a model, the family went with the Edgewood as they needed a home that could accommodate their need for two home offices as they both work from home; Heather as a Realtor with RE/MAX Key and Chris for an Environmental Group in the oil & gas industry. The Edgewood allowed them to do this, along with having a family room, game room, and the three bedrooms they needed upstairs.

Heather was excited to work with Bjornson Designs once again—where she used to work as a Kitchen Designer— to select their kitchen cabinets. “I was really happy to be able to go back to Bjornson Designs and make my selections with them.”

Jackson and Sophia are both excited for the upcoming move this August as they’ll be settled in before starting school in the fall, as well as being able to use all the amenities Harmony has to offer. “My (Sophia) school is only 6-mins from where we will be living, and the Mickelson National Golf Course and LaunchPad are 2 ½ mins away, so I’ll able to bike there.”

Harmony is Awesome!
