Once again the sun shone brightly for our Father’s Day Picnic bringing hundreds of families of all ages out to celebrate “Dad” and enjoy an afternoon of festivities in Paintbrush Park. Parents brought their picnic blankets and lawn chairs, or simply sat on the grass, as kids burned off their energy running up (and sometimes rolling down) the hills in Paintbrush Park, petting the animals from Butterfield Acres, or being transformed into their favourite character with face painting.
Although the picnic was hosted in the park, it created the perfect opportunity to try new activities on Harmony Lake. Undercurrents brought out several canoes, kayaks and paddle boards for families to use to tour the lake. A few people accidentally went for a swim, but the cool water helped with the summer heat!
Thank you to all the Harmony residents, soon-to-be-residents, and visitors who came to our Sunday get-together, to celebrate Fathers Day, and to experience Harmony’s special sense of community in what is now for the second year in a row the“Community of the Year.”
