Construction of the Mickelson National Golf Club continues to progress and it’s exciting to see; spring and summer promise major steps towards a planned soft opening of at least nine holes in 2018.
In 2016, the shaping process was completed with 14 holes of drainage and 11 holes having irrigation finished. Over 800 trees have been planted with another 3000 to be planted in 2017.
To traverse the course’s undulating contours, crews have started building bridges with seven bridges scheduled to be complete for April 15, 2017. Construction will be completed this season allowing for seeding to begin this Spring on 11 holes, and the other seven by mid to late summer.
Mickelson National Golf Club is a private golf club, and to date has just over 100 members with total membership to be capped at 395. Mickelson members have to join Windmill’s other clubs to play golf or wait until Mickelson National is open.
