Harmony Hosts Open House for Stages 2&3

harmony-stage2-3-imageOn January 21, 2016 Harmony hosted a Stage 2 & 3 Public Open House at the neighbouring Edge School for Sport in Springbank. With Harmony now open to the public, many of those who are interested in the community simply visit us to see the latest developments for themselves; however, this Open House was an opportunity to focus on what is being planned for the next Stages of Harmony.

harmony-stage2-3-image3For more than a decade now, Harmony has actively sought input from a wide range of stakeholders and Open Houses like this have been one of the best ways to do this. Local community members with varying backgrounds, industry thought leaders, and County representatives have all contributed to a holistic community vision and, ultimately, to making Harmony a community that complements Springbank and the region at large.

An underlying philosophy of Harmony’s is that “more great minds mean more great ideas.” Stage 2 & 3 Neighbourhood Plans build upon that philosophy and upon the extensive Stage 1 public engagement activities that led to the overall Community Vision. Throughout the years, Harmony’s Vision and community plan has come together with input from our stakeholders through many of (but certainly not limited to) the following methods:

  • Individual and group meetings in Springbank
  • Public Open House and Information Session Events
  • Information sharing via project website, local news articles, small group meetings in our neighbours homes, email correspondence, and even old fashioned “door knocking”
  • Community Advisory Committees, including students and professionals in the Springbank area.

  • Timing of Stages 2 and 3, lake-front lots, Mickelson National Golf Course, and the Village Centre
  • How pathways around and throughout Harmony would be used – and their timing
  • Multi-family and seniors housing options – and their timing
  • What upgrades would be made to surrounding roads- and timing of upgrades

Thank you for your interest and support of the project to date. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Rocky View County and others as we continue to build a community that both honours Rocky View’s history and embraces the future.

The Harmony Development Team.
