Designed for all Springbank residents to share and enjoy, Harmony’s Village Centre evokes the feeling of a bustling European village with its diversity of architecture, charming high streets of boutiques and eateries, and plenty of places to gather with friends and enjoy life.
A personal touch will be found everywhere. Owner-operated outdoor cafes, a planned Gallery Way of regional artist’s studios and galleries, and designated parking areas to make way for pedestrian-friendly districts.
Like all authentic towns, residences are part of the vibrant Village fabric. Harmony is planning innovative multi-family residences for households catering to singles, families, and empty nesters. Expect apartment-style condos, both affordable and luxury waterfront townhouses, specially zoned work/live developments, artist studios, and a seniors residence.
Anticipated highlights include:
The Fresh Food Market: Uniting local growers and artisans with residents of Harmony and the greater Springbank area, the Harmony Market plans to feature fresh, seasonal foods and home-crafted wares. It’s the perfect place for urban and rural communities to come together, and destined to become an engaging ‘destination gathering spot.’
Community Centre & Harmony Plaza: Located close to the waterfront, the Community Centre and Harmony Plaza will be THE neighbourhood social hotspot for activities, festivals, and events. The Plaza boasts four access points, water features, special pavement, and seasonal flowers. An outdoor Amphitheatre will draw residents and guests to gather for outdoor concerts and live performances. Permanent public art and temporary exhibitions will add colour, creativity, and on-going interest to this part of town, and a bank of overlooking restaurants and cafes are perfect for socializing and people watching. Meet you at the Plaza!
Boutique Hotel: Kissing the water’s edge and close to the Community Centre, the site of a future Boutique Hotel is one of the most coveted locations in the Village Centre. When complete, the Hotel will be a landmark destination in Harmony and soon prove an ideal amenity for visiting golfers and out-of-town guests. The Hotel anticipates being a top pick for waterfront weddings and quiet retreats away from the hustle and bustle of Calgary.
Retirement Centre: Considerable thought has gone into developing resources to ensure Harmony’s retired and elderly residents can remain active and engaged in Village life – starting with the location of the Residence itself in the centre of town.
Seniors in Harmony will enjoy enriched life experiences as part of the larger community, with walkable outdoor access to town shops and amenities, interaction with different generations in town, and places to meet, have coffee, and spend social time together. Planned activities, excursions to the lake, or strolling the pathways and gardens means there’s always plenty to do close at hand. And with Harmony’s diverse multi-generational housing plan, residents in the Retirement Centre may be thrilled to have their own families living nearby.
Harmony’s Medical and Professional Building: This accessible building has intentionally been placed centrally and in close proximity to the Harmony Retirement Facility. A full array of professional services including social, medical, and dental will be provided for residents of Harmony and the greater Springbank area. Chiropractors, ophthalmologists, psychologists, pharmacists, family doctors, and maybe some veterinarians for our furry family members.
Art & Music Centre. The Art & Music Centre is envisioned to be a vital contributor to the quality of village life. Up to four studios will be created for uses like glass blowing, painting, ceramics, and metalworks, available to residents and the Springbank community at large. Art and music learning programs will be hosted for all ages, and Harmony will also feature temporary and permanent public art displays including an Art Walk created to showcase local work. Arts and Culture have a home in Harmony.
The Boat House. In Harmony, the luxury of lake living has never been more accessible. Residents and visitors wishing to enjoy Harmony Lake are welcome to visit the Boat House to rent a canoe, kayak, sailboat, or fishing equipment. Ideal for a spontaneous afternoon on the water, The Boat House lets you savour the best of lakeside living without the need to own equipment and gear.
For those who do own their own boats, you’ll love the Village’s Boat Slip Townhouses and Condos, offering a private boat slip for you to moor the family sailboat, rowboat, or canoe. Imagine sailing right to your own doorstep.
Providing in-demand amenities and services to the community, employment opportunities for local residents, and your own successful small business or practice in such a stunning location is a dream. Especially if you live where you work!
